International law: what commercial practitioners need to know
7 Jun
09:00 - 10:30
International law is permeating all areas of law, including those dealt with by the Commercial Court, in commercial arbitrations and in similar fora, including because of the involvement of States and State-owned entities in disputes of a fundamentally commercial character. This means that commercial practitioners are being required to advise on and act in cases involving international law issues. This panel addresses some of the key areas in which international law has appeared in recent commercial cases, including procedural issues (such as service against foreign States), substantive matters (such as the availability of injunctive relief against States) and enforcement issues (including in relation to investment arbitrations).
