Building Resilience in a Volatile World: Managing Political Risk
5 Jun
09:00 - 10:30
Companies' exposure to the financial impact of political changes – whether through sanctions and trade controls, regulatory changes, state interference or conflict – is greater than ever. Businesses can mitigate that risk through strategic planning which anticipates and reduces the impact of that volatility on their business. Our programme's panel, among whom is the former chief trust and compliance officer of a Fortune 500 multinational company, will share their practical experience with these issues; this includes structuring investment to maximise the prospect of legal protection, implementing legal and commercial measures to mitigate the impact of direct and indirect supply chain failures, and using transactional strategies to minimise exposure. The panel will also look to the future and consider what may be some of the risk "hot spots" over the coming years.
